Job Summary

Eskom Holdings SOC Ltd, South Africas leading electricity utility, is seeking a motivated and dynamic Human Resources Graduate in Training to join our talent development program. This role is designed for recent graduates eager to launch a career in human resources and gain comprehensive exposure to HR operations, policies, and strategic workforce management. The successful candidate will undergo structured training, mentorship, and rotational assignments across various HR functions, preparing them for a successful career within Eskoms HR division.


Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in Eskoms HR Graduate Development Program and complete rotational assignments across recruitment, talent management, employee relations, and HR operations.

  • Assist in the recruitment and onboarding process, including screening resumes, scheduling interviews, and preparing employment contracts.

  • Support HR managers in administering performance management systems and training programs.

  • Contribute to HR policy development, compliance, and implementation across the organization.

  • Maintain HR records, generate reports, and assist in HR analytics projects to provide insights for workforce planning.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support employee engagement and retention initiatives.

  • Participate in HR projects and initiatives aimed at improving processes, efficiency, and organizational culture.


Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Psychology, or a related field.

  • Strong understanding of HR principles, labor laws, and employment regulations in South Africa.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.


Experience

  • No prior professional HR experience is required; this program is designed for recent graduates.

  • Internship experience or exposure to HR-related activities is advantageous but not mandatory.


Working Hours

  • Standard Eskom working hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 16:30.

  • Flexibility may be required to meet project deadlines or attend training sessions.
