The Assistant Officer Data Processing in Customer Services plays a pivotal role in ensuring accurate, efficient, and timely processing of customer data to support Eskoms service delivery objectives. This position involves handling data entry, validation, and reporting tasks while collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance customer service efficiency. The role requires attention to detail, analytical skills, and a commitment to upholding Eskoms standards of reliability and service excellence.
Perform accurate and timely data entry for customer accounts, meter readings, billing information, and service requests.
Verify and validate data for completeness and correctness, identifying and correcting discrepancies as needed.
Maintain and update customer records in the database while ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
Generate and compile reports to support customer service operations and management decision-making.
Assist in resolving customer queries related to account data, billing discrepancies, and service records.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless communication and data flow.
Support continuous improvement initiatives to streamline data processing workflows.
Adhere strictly to Eskoms policies, regulatory requirements, and data protection standards.
Matric / National Senior Certificate; a tertiary qualification in Information Management, Business Administration, or related fields is an advantage.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Strong numerical and analytical skills for accurate data handling.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Ability to work with large datasets while maintaining attention to detail.
Strong organizational and time management skills to meet deadlines.
Previous experience in data processing, customer service, or administrative roles is preferred.
Experience in utility, energy, or large-scale service environments is an added advantage.
Full-time position, Monday to Friday.
Standard Eskom office hours apply, with occasional overtime during peak periods.
Knowledge of customer service principles and best practices.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
