Job Summary:

Eskom Holdings SOC Ltd is seeking a highly organized and proactive Fleet Coordinator to manage and oversee the operational efficiency of our transport and logistics fleet. The ideal candidate will ensure that all company vehicles are maintained, scheduled, and utilized effectively to support Eskoms mission of delivering sustainable electricity solutions. This role demands excellent coordination skills, adherence to compliance and safety standards, and the ability to optimize fleet performance while controlling operational costs.

As a Fleet Coordinator, you will act as the central point of contact for all fleet-related activities, including vehicle allocation, maintenance scheduling, fuel management, and reporting. You will play a crucial role in supporting Eskoms transport and logistics operations and ensuring that all fleet activities run smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and coordinate the scheduling, allocation, and deployment of Eskoms vehicle fleet.

• Monitor vehicle usage, ensuring optimal efficiency and compliance with company policies.

• Maintain accurate records of vehicle maintenance, inspections, and repairs.

• Oversee the procurement, replacement, and disposal of vehicles in line with company procedures.

• Ensure fleet operations comply with safety, legal, and environmental regulations.

• Track and manage fleet-related expenses, including fuel consumption and maintenance costs.

• Collaborate with internal departments to plan and support transport requirements for projects and daily operations.

• Prepare and present regular reports on fleet performance, availability, and cost efficiency.

• Liaise with external service providers, suppliers, and contractors to maintain fleet operations.

• Implement and support fleet management systems and technologies to optimize operations.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Logistics, Transport Management, Business Administration, or related field.

• Strong knowledge of fleet management principles and transport operations.

• Proficiency in fleet management software and Microsoft Office Suite.

• Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and multitasking skills.

• Strong analytical skills to monitor fleet performance and identify cost-saving opportunities.

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for coordination with teams and external stakeholders.

• Knowledge of relevant transportation legislation, safety regulations, and compliance standards.

Experience:

• Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in fleet coordination, transport, or logistics management.

• Experience in managing large fleets and transport operations in a corporate or industrial environment is preferred.

• Proven track record of implementing fleet optimization strategies and cost-control measures.

Working Hours:

• Standard full-time working hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 17:00.

• Occasional overtime may be required to support operational demands.

• Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance schedules and fleet lifecycle management.

• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
