Job Summary

Home Depot is seeking a skilled and dependable Warehouse Maintenance Technician to support the safe, efficient, and continuous operation of our distribution and warehouse facilities. This role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing warehouse equipment, building systems, and infrastructure to ensure uninterrupted logistics operations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical expertise, a proactive maintenance mindset, and a commitment to safety and operational excellence in a fast-paced warehouse environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on warehouse equipment, conveyors, racking systems, dock doors, forklifts, and material-handling systems.

  • Inspect, maintain, and repair building systems including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, lighting, and basic carpentry.

  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults and implement effective repairs to minimize downtime.

  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency repair situations.

  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and compliance documentation.

  • Ensure all work complies with safety standards, OSHA regulations, and Home Depot policies.

  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors for specialized repairs and installations.

  • Support facility upgrades, equipment installations, and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times.


Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.

  • Working knowledge of industrial equipment, conveyors, and warehouse automation systems.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.

  • Basic computer skills for maintenance tracking and reporting systems.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

  • Commitment to safety, reliability, and quality workmanship.


Experience

  • Minimum of 2–5 years of experience in maintenance, facilities, or industrial/warehouse environments.

  • Prior experience in distribution centers, manufacturing plants, or large commercial facilities is highly preferred.

  • Experience with preventive maintenance programs and CMMS systems is an advantage.


Working Hours

  • Full-time position.

  • Flexible shifts including day, evening, night, weekend, and holiday rotations as required by operational needs.

  • Overtime may be required during peak periods or emergency situations.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of electrical systems (low to medium voltage), mechanical systems, and basic PLC concepts.

  • Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.

  • Physical ability to lift, climb, bend, and work in warehouse conditions.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as part of a team.
