Job Summary:

Eskom Holdings SOC Ltd is seeking a highly disciplined and vigilant Security Officer Grade C to safeguard its critical infrastructure and ensure the safety of personnel, assets, and facilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a secure environment, detecting and preventing security threats, and responding effectively to incidents. This role requires a strong sense of responsibility, integrity, and a proactive approach to risk management in line with Eskoms commitment to operational excellence and energy security.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and control access to Eskoms infrastructure, ensuring only authorized personnel and visitors enter secure areas.

• Conduct regular patrols of facilities and premises to deter and detect any unauthorized activities.

• Respond promptly and appropriately to security breaches, alarms, or emergencies.

• Maintain accurate records of security incidents, observations, and daily activities.

• Operate security equipment and systems, including CCTV, alarms, and access control systems.

• Collaborate with law enforcement and emergency services when necessary.

• Assist in the development and implementation of security protocols and procedures.

• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and legal requirements.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent qualification.

• Valid Security Officer Grade C registration with the South African Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority (PSIRA).

• Knowledge of security operations, risk management, and emergency response procedures.

• Physical fitness and the ability to handle demanding operational duties.

• Strong observation and surveillance skills.

• Basic computer literacy for reporting and record-keeping.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a security role, preferably within infrastructure protection, utilities, or a corporate environment.

• Prior experience in handling emergency situations, crowd control, or asset protection is advantageous.

Working Hours:

• Full-time, may include rotating shifts, weekends, and public holidays.

• Flexibility to work extended hours during emergencies or critical incidents.

• Understanding of South African security legislation and PSIRA regulations.

• Ability to assess threats, identify risks, and implement preventive measures.

• Conflict resolution and problem-solving capabilities.
