Job Summary

Startup Inno is seeking a highly skilled and proactive Cybersecurity Consultant on a project-based engagement. The consultant will be responsible for identifying vulnerabilities, recommending security improvements, and ensuring compliance with best practices and industry standards.

This is a remote, project-based role compensated at $100/hr, ideal for experienced cybersecurity professionals seeking flexible, high-impact engagements.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive security assessments of networks, systems, and applications.

• Identify vulnerabilities, threats, and risks, and develop actionable remediation plans.

• Design and implement security solutions tailored to the companys infrastructure and business needs.

• Monitor and analyze security alerts and incidents, providing recommendations for mitigation.

• Collaborate with internal IT teams and management to ensure security policies are effectively implemented.

• Maintain awareness of the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and regulatory requirements.

• Provide detailed reports and executive-level summaries on project findings and progress.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Proven expertise in cybersecurity consulting and risk management.

• Strong understanding of network protocols, firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and cloud security.

• Hands-on experience with vulnerability scanning tools, penetration testing, and threat modeling.

• Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, CIS Controls, or SOC 2 compliance.

• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to communicate complex technical information clearly.

• Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or equivalent are highly preferred.

Experience

• Minimum 5 years of experience in cybersecurity roles, preferably in consulting or advisory capacities.

• Demonstrated track record of successfully executing cybersecurity projects for startups, SMEs, or enterprise clients.

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and modern IT infrastructures is a plus.

Working Hours

• Flexible, project-based hours.

• Primarily remote, with occasional meetings aligned to project milestones or client requirements.
