Job Description

We are seeking a creative, energetic, and dedicated EYFS Teacher to join a high-performing British International School in Abu Dhabi. As a Foundation Stage teacher, you will be responsible for creating a stimulating and safe learning environment where children aged 3 to 5 can develop their social, emotional, and academic skills. You will implement the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, ensuring that every child makes excellent progress in an inclusive and nurturing setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Curriculum Delivery: Plan and deliver high-quality, play-based lessons aligned with the 7 areas of learning in the British EYFS framework.

  • Student Assessment: Use digital observation tools (e.g., Tapestry or Seesaw) to track student progress and create comprehensive Learning Journeys.

  • Environment Design: Create an enabling environment that promotes independent choice, curiosity, and the Characteristics of Effective Learning.

  • Parental Engagement: Maintain strong, professional relationships with parents, providing regular updates on their child developmental milestones.

  • Inclusive Education: Differentiate activities to support English as an Additional Language (EAL) learners and students with Determination (SEND).

  • Phonics Instruction: Lead daily phonics sessions using synthetic phonics programs (e.g., Read Write Inc. or Jolly Phonics).


Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) in Early Years/Primary OR a Bachelors degree in a relevant subject plus a PGCE/QTS (Qualified Teacher Status).

  • Curriculum Knowledge: Minimum of 2 years of experience teaching the National Curriculum of England (EYFS).

  • Licensing: Ability to meet ADEK (Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge) approval requirements (Primary Source Verification/Dataflow).

  • Communication: Flawless written and verbal English skills.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Digital Literacy: Proficiency in using interactive whiteboards, iPads, and educational software.

  • Cultural Sensitivity: Ability to adapt teaching methods for a diverse, international student body while respecting local UAE culture and values.

  • Teamwork: A collaborative mindset to work alongside Teaching Assistants and Year Group Leaders.


Work Details:

  • Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE (Mainland or Yas/Reem Island areas).

  • Contract: 2-year renewable contract.

  • Schedule: Monday – Friday (Early finish on Fridays as per UAE school regulations).

  • Compensation: Competitive Tax-Free Salary (AED 10,000 – AED 15,000 per month, depending on experience).
